Elizabeth Roth

Elizabeth Roth, whose name is practically synonymous with St Augustine, is one of North Florida's premiere solo acts. By performing 4 to 5 gigs per week year-round for the last 15 years in the high visibility, artistically noted tourist town of Saint Augustine, Florida, Elizabeth has established a fan base that spreads throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Roth's unique vocal stylings and acoustic guitar prowess have delighted both tourists and locals alike. When not burning up the stage with her solo act, Roth is most often found in the company of: Janine Newfield - violin, Nancy Cohan - cello, and Tom Santoni - drums/percussion, converting people to their own intense brand of intelligent rock and roll.

The new CD entitled "like the david" was produced by Jim Devito (who has worked with the likes of Don Henley, Tom Petty and Creed) at Retrophonics Studios, and features 14 guest musicians who range from the national music scene (Mike Nugen -veteran Nashville session guitarist) to local legend (John Henry Gates, noted violinist and member of the First National Rotagilla Band) to newcomer (Chris Kearnes - Sax). The songs themselves reflect Elizabeth's usual eclectic crazy-quilt of influences, and may be best described as folk-influenced acoustic rock; with just a hint of blues and jazz blended in for good measure. Fans who know her from her traditionally more acoustic live sound will still find every track on the album to be easily recognizable, with Roth's powerful yet warmly expressive vocals and confident acoustic guitar up front and sharing center stage.
